Professional Electrics Ltd was formed in 1992 by the amalgamation of several well established electrical companies operating in the Christchurch area. The companies involved were J.D. Doak Electrical Ltd along with the servicing arms of T.L. Jones Ltd and Aotea Electric Ltd. These companies had been trading for 30 years and their experience gave Professional Electrics Ltd a solid base from which to grow. The purchase of Norm Smith Electric Ltd enabled Prolec to provide its clients with a specialist switchboard construction facility.

To meet our clients’ needs in terms of competence, quality and service, we give our clients an ongoing commitment to meet their post contract requirements which includes monitoring all work done using the audit procedures of ISO 9001:2000.

Professional Electrics Ltd offers its clients a complete service because of its capabilities across all areas of its industry.

Clients who use our service benefit from the fact that we provide a single point of contact, standardisation of design, installation and established maintenance routines. Effective savings can be made by using our services because our company’s ISO 9001:2000 accreditation reduces administration costs.

Our commitment to quality is measured by the company’s investment in quality assurance systems.

Professional Electrics Ltd gained ISO 9002 registration in 1993 (now ISO 9001:2000) after extensive effort by management and staff and this registration affirms our company’s commitment to quality. Only two companies in this field in the South Island have gained registration.

To strengthen our company’s quality assurance procedures we have a registered inspector on our staff who is responsible for administration of the Electricity Act 1997.

All services operate under an extensive safety programme designed and documented in full compliance with electrical industry standards and the requirements of the Building Act and OSH legislation.
